Description
Nawha (Arabic: نوحہ) is a genre of Arabic, Persian, or Urdu prose depicting the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Strictly speaking nawha is the sub-parts of Marsia. Nawhas are usually poetry expressing the sorrow felt by Shia Muslims for their leader and his family's murders at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680 CE.
